Green Screening with Year 1

Animations this week! We have been learning about animals and categorising them. For our animation we chose 2 animals, each from different categories. We then had to make an animation where one of these animals was lost and not in their natural habitat and the other had to help them home.

We used Green Screening to do this, using the iPods. Here are some of our creations:

Some of us created animations using the iPads. We use an app called i-motion to make a Stop Motion Animation. We had to move the animals a little bit each time to get the effect we wanted. This was harder than looked!

Year 1 All Things Bee Bot

We had great fun programming the Bee Bot's. We followed the instructions on the task cards, navigated to different obstacles and used the Bee-Bot map to go to different locations. Sometimes we were not allowed to use certain keys and sometimes we had to get there in a certain number of moves. We were worn out by the end as we really had to think!

Some of us used the Bee-Bot app and progressed through the levels to get him through the maze using one set of instructions and not doing it in stages like we had in Year R.

2Paint

We spent our last session drawing using 2Paint. I gave instructions which were followed in order to produce a reindeer!

For those who opted out of this, they made a festive animation using Learnpads and Lego.
