Computational Thinking

Computational Thinking

I started off this weeks session by sharing a video of David Beckham:

We talked about voice simulators and how they have benefits and drawbacks.

We also watched how a video game could help save Notre Dame:

After this we had a play on a site where we had to use computational thinking:

This is a great site for the whole family!

Murder Mystery!

Who killed Humpty?

Today there was a situation! The children were greeted to the session with police tape and an eggy mess!

But who done it?!

The children had to use all the skills they have learnt this term to find out!
Scan QR codes, video and interview, take photos and report using an app.

We looked at the evidence.

It got us thinking, questioning, disputing, justifying!

Here are some reports:

The murder was...

....now that would be telling!

Video Star

The last two weeks we have looked at the app Video Star on the iPads. We practised moving to the music and changing frames in time with the music! We also thought about using props and looking at what was in the background of our videos!

The children found this process quite challenging.

Time Lapse

During todays session we looked at some time lapse videos on You Tube.

We then used this as inspiration to create our own time lapse videos, working in pairs.

QR Codes

We went on a QR Code hunt this week. We found one on a display board and scanned it using an app on the iPads. We found that this took us to Asda's advert which was banned.

Inspired, we created our own QR codes using a website.

Manga

We learnt about Manga and watched a clip of Ponyo.

We learnt that manga is drawn by hand and make up for  40% of all publications sold in Japan!

This week Digital Leaders played with 2DIY and created their own games.

Some of us made platform games.
